Posted on: Tuesday, July 24, 2012Are you gearing up for the fall 2012 semester? But guess what; it doesn’t have to be! Sterling Cottages is here to help prepare you! Below is our list to help you get organized for the fall 2012 semester!
Keep Calm and Get Some Sleep
Without sleep, your school and work life balance will be destroyed and catapulted into an abyss (well we assume that’s possible). Sleep is crucial to any student’s schedule, unless of course you enjoy crashing and burning within the first half of your day. Try to maximize the time you have available. Make studying and homework your first priority and try to get it finished first. Try to manage your time and organize your calendar, get a day planner or have an errands board for your bedroom.
Stay in Touch
When your schedule is full and your life seems like one busy mess, sometimes it can seem as though you’re losing touch with everyone. Staying in touch with your friends and family members can really help put things into perspective. Communication is critical!
Spend Some Alone Time
There are many things that students have to manage; busy schedules, loads of reading and homework, as well as living with other roommates. Often times, students need to decompress from their stressful days and have some alone time in order to reflect, decompress and evaluate. Never underestimate the power of spending time by alone.
Eat Regularly
When students’ schedules are demanding, it’s hard for them to have consistent eating plans. Some students’ have night classes; others a part time job, and some have prior obligations. Trying to stay on a regular eating schedule will not only keep you balanced, but it will help maintain your energy levels. If you know you have night class, bring your lunch, or if you know you won’t have time, try to bring a snack like trail mix to hold you over.
