babo: a market by Sava at Sterling 411 Lofts in Ann Arbor is Farm Fresh. Street Smart.
With the opening of babo: a market by Sava on the first floor of Sterling’s 411 Lofts in Ann Arbor, college students can enjoy the convenience of a neighborhood grocery store right outside their doors. Called Ann Arbor's most comprehensive local and international food emporium and prepared foods shop, the European style market on Washington Street in downtown is already the talk of the town, and there is still more to come.
The artsy, health-conscious market is a unique blend of specialty grocery store, coffee shop, lunch spot and relaxing hangout. At babo you’ll find prepared and packaged foods, fresh produce, specialty cheeses, bread and bagels, cereals and much more. Combined with the music and décor, babo makes food sexy and fun.
The unique market is the most recent business endeavor of entrepreneur Sava Lelcaj, proprietor of the popular Sava’s Restaurant. At babo you can sip a cappuccino or eat a sandwich at the rustic community table as you listen to the music, take in the ambiance and use the free WiFi before carrying your groceries home. Lelcaj hopes to soon have a liquor license, enabling babo to also become a wine bar, and plans to offer pizza in the near future. Outdoor seating is coming, too, as well as food and wine tasting events and grocery delivery. A rooftop herb garden is being considered. For residents of Sterling’s Ann Arbor student housing, babo wants to offer breakfast in bed. Imagine that!
Babo is open seven days a week from 7am to 10pm. The market’s website is at www.baboannarbor.com. You can also stay updated about what’s new and coming soon by frequenting the babo Facebook page. For additional information, call 734-997-8495.
